Updated: Train Kills Woman, 67, in Town of Waukesha
Late Tuesday afternoon accident remains under investigation.

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department has identified the 67-year-old Town of Waukesha woman killed by a train on Tuesday as Lila Mallman.
Authorities have ruled her death as a suicide.
Earlier:
A train hit and killed a 67-year-old female pedestrian around 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Town of Waukesha.
The accident occurred near Lawnsdale Road by Fox River Church. Lawnsdale Road was blocked off from just west of the church to Center Road.
From the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department:
The initial investigation indicates that a 67-year-old female from Waukesha was struck by the Canadian National train in the functioning crossing on Lawnsdale Road. The female was pronounced deceased on scene. There were no other injuries.
The 110-car Canadian National train was travelling southbound.
This incident remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. The Canadian National Railroad Police will also be completing an investigation into the incident.
The City of Waukesha had two fatal train vs. pedestrian accidents in 2011 and in 2012.

I agree with you Ryan! People do make mistakes. But to make humor out of a typo. Is totally stupit. I also agree when you said this is a sad story. I don't care what anybody says about when a person gets hit by a train. And dies. Or when someone gets killed in a car accident. My cousin got killed by a drunk driver 3 years ago. And to this day it still hurts. I don't even know this lady. But I feel sorry for them. My prayers and thoughts are with the family through this tough time.

Sad story but on another note...
Seems there are an awful lot of typos on the Waukesha Patch. Thought reporters were professionals. Perhaps spellcheck and proofreading would be helpful???

Can't believe all the naysayers about one spelling error. Hope you all do not live in glass houses. I could have sworn the article was about a train accident, and someone losing their life. Not about one typo. Spellcheck would not have found it - give it a rest people. A family is grieving right now, that should be the concern.

Very sad indeed. If she was a pedestrian, it makes you wonder if it was a suicide? We seem to have had more than our fair share of those in Waukesha over the years. Horrible grief for the family and for the conductor of the train.

I will not be asking the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department for pictures. They had the road blocked off and I was not able to go closer. However, up-close pictures of the accident would not be appropriate or posted online.

Likely a suicide. So selfish. No consideration for the trauma she caused the train engineers or heartache she caused her family/friends.

WOW, judgemental much? I feel sympathy and compassion for this person, even though she should have prayed for help instead of going this way. Oh well, she knows now. Anti-depressants make you suicidal too! Could have been that. :(
