Updated: Train Kills Woman, 67, in Town of Waukesha

Late Tuesday afternoon accident remains under investigation.

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department has identified the 67-year-old Town of Waukesha woman killed by a train on Tuesday as Lila Mallman.

Authorities have ruled her death as a suicide.

A train hit and killed a 67-year-old female pedestrian around 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Town of Waukesha.

The accident occurred near Lawnsdale Road by Fox River Church. Lawnsdale Road was blocked off from just west of the church to Center Road.

From the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department:

The initial investigation indicates that a 67-year-old female from Waukesha was struck by the Canadian National train in the functioning crossing on Lawnsdale Road. The female was pronounced deceased on scene. There were no other injuries.

The 110-car Canadian National train was travelling southbound.

This incident remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. The Canadian National Railroad Police will also be completing an investigation into the incident.

The City of Waukesha had two fatal train vs. pedestrian accidents in 2011 and in 2012.
