T.J. Maxx Sets Grand Opening Date in Waukesha

Off-price fashion retailer to open 24,000-square-foot store at Shoppes of Fox River development.

T.J. Maxx, an off-price retailer, will open its new Waukesha store on Oct. 28, the company announced Monday.

The 24,000-square-foot store will be located at the Shoppes at Fox River, 1200 Sunset Drive. The store will be part of the second phase of the retail development, which also will include Ulta Salon and Cosmetics, Rue 21, and Charming Charlie’s.

“We are pleased to expand our store base to Waukesha, delivering value and an exciting selection of fashion to serve the needs of customers,” Richard Sherr, president of T.J.Maxx, said in a statement. “With thousands of new items from top designers and brands arriving in each store every week from around the world, shoppers will discover a completely new store full of amazing values every time they visit.

T.J.Maxx is one of the nation’s largest off-price retailers and has more than 1,000 stores currently operating in 49 states and Puerto Rico.

The chain is opening more than 50 new stores this year. Departments include clothing and accessories, jewelry, beauty products, pet accessories, toys and more.

On Oct. 28, the store will be open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., and reusable shopping bags will be given to the first 1,000 customers. Regular store hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

The story will feature an "easy to shop" layout, large dressing rooms and a single line queue for faster checkout, the company said.

The store will create about 60 part-time and full-time jobs.
