On Saturday, July 9, Wales Summer Splash is open from 8 a.m. to midnight. The softball tournament continues from 8 a.m to 6 p.m.

There are also various contests throughout the day such as a wing eating contest, a kid’s slushy drinking contest, a photo scavenger hunt and a pie baking contest. There will be a silent auction from 1 p.m. to 9 .pm.

From 7 to 11:30 p.m., the Boogie Men will perform in the beer tent. Hoppe said that he’s already received 25 calls related to the popular local band.

There will also be Bartolotta fireworks at dusk.

Carnival rides and games will be provided by Wenzel Entertainment. Hoppe said that this is the second year that there has been a carnival. Last year, Wenzel only brought half of what they are bringing this year.

“Every year it’s been getting bigger and bigger," Hoppe said. "This is the year that we picked that’s probably going to be the biggest we’ve ever seen.”
