A 15-year-old boy was arrested after he streaked across a football field in front of a large group of young girl poms dancers Thursday night at the Waukesha West High School football game.
Some people thought the prank was funny while others in the crowd were disgusted that it occurred in front of the young girls.
The 15-year-old streaker attends Waukesha West High School. He now faces three municipal citations that are being referred to the city attorney's office. The teen also faces school and parental consequences, according to Waukesha Police Sgt. Jerry Habanek.
The 16-year-old boy who drove the getaway vehicle faces one municipal citation, in addition to school and parental consequences, according to Habanek. The driver did not attend Waukesha West but is part of the School District of Waukesha.
“The school and the police department are partnering to give the students their consequences in the hopes that it will deter in the future this type of behavior,” Habanek said.
Principal David Towers described the incident as being “one of the more disappointing moments” in his career as an educator. Staff at Waukesha West are addressing the incident. However, Towers is unable to state the specifics of discipline-related cases involving students.
“We are not going to tolerate this type of behavior,” Towers said. “We will deal with this appropriately and very seriously.”
It's not the first time the School District of Waukesha's had a streaker at a football game. A naked student ran across the field last year at a Waukesha North High School football game.
On Friday night — the day after Waukesha's incident, two males streaked across Brookfield Central's football field during its Homecoming game against the Wauwatosa Red Raiders. Those two wore underwear and masks. One got away; one did not and was cited for municipal disorderly conduct.
Here's what people are saying on Waukesha Patch's Facebook page:
- "All caught on my phone during my daughter's dance performance. A G-rated show quickly turned MA."
- "Bad choice on his part!"
- "Yes, in today's hugely PC society, he could probably end up being charged with a felony for what he did. In the 50's, (a la Porky's...) he'd probably be laughed off the field and end up being more afraid of facing his dad than the cops if he got caught...
- "It was at halftime right in front of 160 7-10 year olds who were performing a routine they learned in a poms clinic this week. The girls were all talking about it after the performance. The police chased him but he jumped the fence.
In this day in age...? This guy saw there was a field filled with kids-if it was that important to cross that off a bucket list wait til a game when there's 160+ less vulnerable eyes watching the scene. Disgusting."

Deserves the chair...come on, one of the MOST disappointing moment in the principal's career? Really? Stupid, yes - felony, no. You should've been at North when it opened. The principal bummed smokes from the kids!

Jesus. He streaked. Big deal. Write him his tickets and get over it.
Also the last quote: "there's 160+ less vulnerable eyes watching the scene." Unless the poms clinic was for girls who only have one eye there were a lot more than 160 eyes.

That's funny as hell. Too many make a big deal out of it, and the power of the internet for those who think their kids live in a hampster ball, put something in google images and BOOM.... just dont get some of the sheltered people. Sad the kid did that, it would have been funny if it was cold or something and the kid had to get it cut off, that would have been a halftime laughter!

The Principal is the one who has lived a sheltered life. Teenagers do random acts of stupidity every day. If you don't want your 7 year old subjected to these acts, Don't take them to a High school football game. I just hope a ticket is all he receives, anything more would be just plain asinine.

Stranger in ski mask exposes his genitalia to 5 year olds. That is not behavior that should be acceptable in this community.

Oh come on! Get over it! It's not like he got caught with drugs at school and wasn't punished because he was a jock! No, that was a different kid LAST year! Streaking is stupid, but funny. Why ruin the kids life for making a bad choice? Lighten up! -- Mother of 5 girls under 13

What poor innocent scarred people. Seeing a human body in its natural state..how frightening and outlandish. Sarcasm.

It seems to me that it is a big fuss about nothing. I don't like the sort of PC society there is at the moment. If young people were brought up to see nudity as normal and natural, there would be no problem. I have been a naturist when I was 16. In the 70s, there would be much less fuss about it and it would all have been seen as a joke.
