The 2011 RiverWalk for Breast Cancer was held in Waukesha's Frame Park Saturday morning. The 15th annual, two-mile walk raised money for local breast cancer research and was the largest on record with more than 5,000 participants.

"These funds will support cancer research trials, palliative care, breast cancer programs, long-term programming, and community education - available right here in Waukesha County," according to the RiverWalk for Breast Cancer's website. "... When you walk, you are literally taking steps to finish cancer through local research and treatment."

The RiverWalk for Breast Cancer is hosted by The Center for Breast Care at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and sponsored by about a dozen different businesses and organizations.

RiverWalk Planning Committee did an excellent job of planning. This is a great partnership event with the community and ProHealth. The whole experience is a tribute to how the people of Waukesha care for each other and reach out and support each other in the time of need. May the next 15 years lead to a cure for Breast Cancer.
