Report: Mayor’s Fund Saves Repairs to Old Bus Station

New Day in Waukesha committee agrees to spend $5,000 to repair former bus shelter, according to newspaper report.

When the Waukesha Common Council cut $5,000 in funding to repair the former bus station pavilion that is home to the Waukesha Farmers’ Market, at least one alderman asked if Mayor Jeff Scrima could find the funding for the repairs from his fund where he designates half his salary.

He apparently has found the funding for the repairs to the pavilion from that fund. He told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the committee administering the New Day in Waukesha fund agreed to commit the $5,000 to fix the aging structure.

The mayor has vetoed the budget, though, because it includes a 1.44 percent tax increase.  The meeting on the veto starts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall.

Wow, what a waste when there are so many "PEOPLE" who really need help.

More misguided non sense from the current non educated mayor. Oh, and thanks to the City Council who saw through the mayors scam to make the tax payers pay for rubbish removal.

The only rubbish that needs to be removed is the mayor.

Are you serious? The Mayor is spending HIS money on this... out of HIS paycheck. If there are so many "PEOPLE" who really need help, open up your wallet and put YOUR money where YOUR mouth is. How many times a month do you volunteer at the food pantry or allow a homeless family bunk at your house?

It doesn't matter if you agree with the Mayor politically or not, he is trying (by his own personal means) to make this a better city to live in.
