Report: Energy Secretary Tours Waukesha Electric Systems
Manufacturing facilities expansion highlighted in federal official’s visit to Wisconsin.
Waukesha Electric System’s $70 million expansion that is in progress was highlighted Thursday morning when U.S. Energy Secretary Steve Chu toured the manufacturing facility on South Prairie Avenue, according to a news report in the Chicago Tribune.
The company received a $12 million tax credit from the U.S. Department of Energy and $9 million is tax incremental financing from the city of Waukesha to expand the facility on Prairie Avenue by 140,00 square feet to bring the manufacturing facility to 369,000 square feet.
