Recount of City of Waukesha Ballots Should be Complete Today

More than 50% of county votes recounted in state Supreme Court race.

Update: The City of Waukesha's recount process should be completed Saturday. The poll books need to be compared to the ballots, said Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Gina Kozlik.

The ballots from the city of Waukesha, though, have been completely counted, Kozlik said.

The Waukesha County Board of Canvassers has recounted 64,829 ballots  and sent the those reports over to go the Government Accountability Board, according to Ellen Nowak, chief of staff to Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas.

That means about 51.8 percent of the votes have been reported to the Government Accountability Board. However, the Board of Canvassers will report the entire city of Waukesha at one time, which has been in the recount process since Tuesday morning.

Nowak said she expects the city’s ballots to be completed today. The city of Waukesha had in the state Supreme Court Election – 10,471 for Prosser and 5,257 for Kloppenburg.

With the inclusion of the city of Waukesha’s votes, the recount will be about 64 percent of the way completed.
