POLL: How Many Games will the Green Bay Packers Win This Year?

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was last year's NFL MVP as the Packers went 15-1, then flamed out in the playoffs. Can they replicate last year's regular-season success?

You can tell Green Bay Packers fans are anxious for the 2012 season by the way they engaged in collective sphincter clenching over the preseason play of backup quarterback Graham Harrell.

But then Harrell closed the preseason on Thursday looking more like Aaron Rodgers than Erin Moran for once in a 24-3 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. For a fan base eager to erase the memory of the Fail Mary in last year’s playoffs, it was the sort of performance — in a meaningless game, to be sure — that should turn the optimism up to 11.

The Packers were 15-1 in the regular season, winning 14 games to open the season and establishing themselves as easily the best team in football. Rodgers played brilliantly at quarterback all season to earn NFL Most Valuable Player honors. Then, with an inglorious thud, the Packers were eliminated by the New York Giants at Lambeau Field in a first-round playoff game.

Green Bay enters this season still considered among the favorites to reach Super Bowl XLVII, but it won’t be easy. The Chicago Bears were nearly as good as the Packers last year until Jay Cutler was hurt, and now he has a top receiver in Brandon Marshall. The Detroit Lions are a team on the move, also with a remarkable passing attack. And the NFL extracts a steep price for complacency or slippage of any kind.

Did the Packers do enough to reach the regular-season summit again? Will other teams manage to bring them back to earth a bit? Or is this season going to feel like a bad movie starring Ray Rhodes? Vote in our poll for how many games the Packers will win, then expound on your prediction in the comments.

If you're talking injuries, you might have a point. Otherwise you're "way off base'.

It is impossible to gauge how many games the Packers might win this year. I don't know why the Patch is running such a poll. Isn't the world supposed to end before the season does? Packers 16-0 baby!!!!!

I think the Packers will fiel a goo team, but I on't think that a perfect recor is their estiny. Hopefully, some of the goo young players rafted from last year's class can a something to the half of the team that oesn't have the ball.

Hey Mike, I think you got the joke. Like the Packers, the 'D' is missing in every place my sentences needed one.

Like a 25-letter alphabet: No 'D'. I think the fans at Lambeau should make their feelings known and shout "E-Fense!" "E-Fense!" Maybe make a sign like you see, with a question mark preceding the picket fence.

They will win 11 games but it will not matter because the New Orleans Saints are going to win it all anyways

No way that they will be 15-1 again, 12-4 will get division title, home field advantage, and a shot at the Super Bowl. I am very worried about the offensive line's ability to protect Rodgers however as he is the franchise.

We bleed Green and Gold in our house, so regardless of how our boys do, we're with them all the way! Of course 16-0 is ideal, but you never know how a season's going to go. All I can say is Sunday can't come soon enough!!!!!!

Oh, and is anybody else hoping just a little that Flynn decides the Seahawks aren't really all that great and that the Mid-west has much better football weather than the stinkin West Coast????
