Police Report: Entering Wrong Houses, Smashing Guitar and Throwing Rocks
Two people enter the wrong houses. One leaves behind cereal and the other falls asleep on the couch. Also, a guitar-town guitar is damaged and a kid throws rocks at cars.
The following items are brief summaries from the Waukesha Police Department call log for Sunday and Monday, July 15 and 16. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt.
Police responded to two calls Sunday morning about people entering the wrong houses.
In one case, a box of cereal was found on the floor and in the other, a man was found on the couch “sleeping something off.”
- A resident in the 100 block of North Moreland Boulevard called police at 7:43 a.m. after they woke up Sunday morning and found the back door to the house open. The refrigerator door was wide open and a box of cereal was left on the floor. Appliances and furniture were moved around. Nothing was reported stolen.
- A resident in the 800 block of South Comanche Lane Sunday at 7:32 a.m. found a man who “appeared to be sleeping something off” on his couch. The man was in the wrong house. No complaint was filed.
Door left open: In the 1600 block of Cedar Lane, a call was made to police Monday at 12:44 a.m. from a woman who had returned home after being gone all weekend and found the front door standing wide open. Police checked the house and garage and found nothing amiss. The woman found nothing taken and suspects a friend may have left the door open by mistake.

Needless to say I've been expecting the guitar damage alot sooner-downtown Waukesha is a mess. That's why no one goes there-just bars, food with drinks and icky stores and then there's Friday nite. Woo Hoo!!! Bring back the good old days and it might have a bitty chance. It's gettin like "Little Milwaukee", andy one agree?

Love downtown Waukesha, love the shops, the eateries ( great variety), Friday Nite Live and the cafe seating outside, farmers market and the riverfront. So I don't agree and I think you should give it another try...really.

I have to agree with J Carroll Petrie, except that there is nothing the city is going to be able to do about the riff raff in the downtown area. They can fix up the buildings and the same disturbed people are still going to go there. I lived in Milwaukee for a number of years and rarely did I ever witness violence like I do in the downtown of Waukesha. Every weekend people brawl on the streets and in the bars and break stuff in downtown Waukesha. It will be easier to move someplace else than to try to change it.

That is exactly the kind of attitude that keeps the downtown area from its continued re-development. I have lived in Waukesha for many years and visit the downtown establishments frequently and have seen very few incidents that would make me change my mind about going. For years the downtown area was left to decay until recently and it has improved. If it hadn't do you think business like Taylors or Generations would even give downtown a second glance? No. Re-development takes time and investment from the community. If you just cant handle a little "color" in your night out on the town, well maybe Waukesha just isn't the place for you.
