Police Report: Break In? No, Just A Thoughtful Neighbor Putting Mail in Door
Waukesha Police Department calls from Friday through early Sunday.
A man called police because his wife thought someone was breaking into their residence at 5:19 p.m. Friday in the 2000 block of Garland Avenue. Police responded and the short investigation revealed a neighbor was placing a piece of mail between the doors. The neighbor did not think anyone was home.
In other Waukesha Police Department calls:
• A person was arrested after narcotics were found at 9:38 a.m. Friday in a room at a Hebron House of Hospitality shelter in the 800 block of North East Avenue.
• A woman walking on South Grand at West Wabash avenues reported a man told her to get into his vehicle at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Police made contact with the man, who said he only waved at the woman. The man, who police believed was acting suspicious, was warned about his behavior.
• A narcotics violation was reported at 2:39 p.m. Friday at Waukesha South High School, 401 E. Roberta Ave.
• A woman was arrested after it was reported she was trying to pick up a forged prescription at 5:29 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of East Sunset Drive.
• A woman was arrested for retail theft at 7:18 p.m. Friday in the 2200 block of West St. Paul Avenue.
• A car and a truck collided during an accident at 8:16 p.m. Friday at Pewaukee and Northview roads.
• A woman reported her ex-boyfriend hit her and stole her cell phone at 10:15 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of Pleasant Street. An arrest was made.
• An 11-year-old was reported to be leaving a girl in the 1600 block of South West Avenue harassing messages at 11:40 p.m. Friday.
• A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 12:52 a.m. Saturday at Arcadian and North Hartwell avenues.
• A man who was reported to have fought with police in the past was arrested after a domestic dispute was reported at 1:26 a.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Pewaukee Road.
• A snowplow driver got locked out of a vehicle at 3:16 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Sutton Place.
• A noise violation citation was given after police were called twice to a residence in the 800 block of Pewaukee Road. The intoxicated group of people were warned when police first responded at 12:18 a.m. Sunday but were cited hours later.
• A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 2:08 a.m. Sunday at Maple and West Park avenues.
• A group of disorderly, intoxicated people who were shouting the 200 block of West Main Street were warned about their behavior at 2:32 a.m. Sunday.
• The theft of a purse filled with cash and a bottle of medication was reported at 2:58 a.m. Sunday. The theft occurred Jan. 6 in the 900 block of Friedman Drive.
• A woman who admitted she had been drinking was arrested after she called police during a disturbance at 3:29 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Cambridge Avenue.
• Police were called after it was reported a woman had her foot run over by a vehicle following an argument with another woman at 5:45 a.m. Sunday at Oakdale and West Sunset drives. Police responded to Waukesha Memorial Hospital where the victim was receiving treatment but the victim did not want police involvement.
