Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin, who is running as a Democrat in the U.S. Senate race for the seat being vacated by Sen. Herb Kohl, was touring downtown Waukesha with former Mayor Larry Nelson on Monday.

Baldwin faces whoever wins the Republican nomination in August – Former Gov. Tommy Thompson, businessman Eric Hovde, Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald and former Congressman Mark Neumann.

Baldwin and her campaign members visited Plowshare, Martha Merrell’s and Cuddles, Divino Gelato, Allo! Chocolat, Little Swiss Clock Shop, The Steaming Cup, Waukesha Civic Theatre, Almont Gallery and People’s Park.

“It was inspiring to listen to small business owners who have been in downtown Waukesha for a long, long time, seeing all the changes and really have contributed to those very positive changes,” Baldwin told Patch. “Whether it is the role of art, GuitarTown, the riverwalk, all of these elements have been incredible. I was very inspired by what I heard.”

GOPers, always keepin' it classy...
Thanks for visiting, Tammy - there are people who think (and therefore vote for Democrats) in Waukesha.
