The new Aaron Rodgers-Ryan Braun restaurant, 8-twelve MVP Bar & Grill, held a private big bash Sunday night to celebrate its grand opening in the Town of Brookfield.

Among those in the packed crowd: the two MVPs, Surg Restaurant Group owner Omar Shaik, Gov. Scott Walker and his wife and sons, Brookfield Mayor Steve Ponto and Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas.

The Business Journal was there and snapped these shots.

Ponto, who attended with his wife Mary, said the party was packed and the restaurant was a great experience. So what does he recommend? The calamari and prime rib, paired with red wine, were "excellent," he said.

invitees look like a who s who of politicians and well connected financiers. and they expect Brookfield local to pay the piper.

So how about inviting members of the military instead of a bunch of fat cats?

my point is that there are tons of Packer and Brewer fans who would be thrilled to attend a free buffet and see their star athletes. instead the invited special guests have a good time while the real fans still pay the piper.

what does the state dept. of tourism have to do with the city of brookfield. looks like a freebee for those who have political connections. local taxpayers are ignored again.
