Obituary: Jerry J. “Hopper” Belger

Jerry was born in Waukesha on April 25, 1923, the son of Jeremiah and Bertha (Yatzeck) Belger. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.

 

Jerry J. “Hopper” Belger, of Waukesha, died on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at home surrounded by his family by the age of 89 years.

Jerry was born in Waukesha on April 25, 1923, the son of Jeremiah and Bertha (Yatzeck) Belger. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Jerry graduated from the University of Marquette and went on to work for the Archie Ladewig Co. until he was transferred to Baltimore to work for Crown, Cork and Seal.  

Jerry will be deeply missed by his wife, Frances “Freck”; his children, Kathleen “Kathy” (Ron) Skraban and Richard “Rick” (Debbie) Belger;  his eight grandchildren, Scott (Tina), Mark, Jeffrey (Arlene), Amy (Eric), Amanda (James), Kimberly (Travis), Eric and Cara; seven great  grandchildren, Adrianna, Chloe, Christopher, Emma, Laura, Ellie and Tristan; his sister, Joan Deluhery; other relatives and friends. 

The visitation for Jerry will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI  53186.  The Rev. Howard Hasse will officiate.  The burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers,  memorials are appreciated to St. Mary Catholic Church (see address above).
