New Parks & Recreation Activity Guide is Published

Looking for ways to stay active this year? Waukesha's Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department has some options.

 

From the JanBoree to tobogganing, from cardio classes to Sheepshead, the newest Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department's guide has plenty of options to stay fit or busy during this winter.

The WPRF’s activity guide has been published and mailed out to area homes. It is also available online.

A new Walk With Ease class is being offered beginning Jan. 4 with the WPRF and the Arthritis Foundation to “teach participants how to safely make physical activity part of their everyday life,” states a news release sent to Waukesha Patch.

“The evidence-based program is designed for people with or without arthritis – young and old, male and female, fit and not-so-fit,” the release states.

The Walk With Ease program will be offered from Wednesday, Jan.4, through Monday, Feb. 13,at the Rotary Building (through the City of Waukesha) located at 1150 Baxter St. in Waukesha. Class will meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. for six weeks.

The class will cost $28 for Waukesha residents and $42 for non-residents and includes a Walk With Ease book, incentives, and the class. If you complete 15 out of the 18 classes, you will receive a free drawstring bag.
