Muskego Pet Fair to Benefit HAWS
What started as a photo shoot opportunity for pets has grown into a fair, and organizer says 'the more, the merrier'
Signs have gone up for a Pet Photo Shoot at the Walgreens on Racine Avenue and Janesville Road, but it's just part of the events that will be offered on Saturday, September 17 from 11am -3pm.
Chris March, organizer and Head Photo Specialist at Walgreen's wanted to hold a charitable fundraiser, and thought the offer for a free photo with a donation to the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha (HAWS) would be a great cause.
HAWS will now also be on site with a mobile adoption trailer, and other Muskego businesses have also committed to helping out. While the photo shoot has become a pet fair, March said she is inviting any other businesses that want to be a part of the event to contact her.
"Really, the more the merrier," she said. "We will be featuring events and vendors all around the Walgreens lot, and there is still room for anyone who would like to take part in this."
Already featured is a petting zoo from Acres of Hope, Central Bark Doggy Day Care, Muskego Animal Hospital, and Yellow Brick Road pet rescue of Muskego.
In addition, demonstrations by Rock's Positive Canine Training will be held, and Pet Supplies & More will also have vendors for various products on site. Food vendors have also stepped forward, with Cousins' Subs of Muskego and Culver's offering food for sale.
Inside the store, a barrel is on display to encourage donations based on HAWS wish list of supplies.
If you are interested in participating, contact March at 262-679-5843. She said that she is looking in particular for assistance from a photographer in shooting the pet portraits, but anyone is welcome to participate.
