Man Taken to Froedtert Hospital After Being Pinned Under Van

Waukesha Fire Department responds to accident in 2200 block of Bluemound Road.

A 66-year-old man was taken to Froedtert Hospital for unknown injuries after a van backed on top of his leg at 8:46 a.m. Wednesday in a strip mall parking lot in the 2200 block of Bluemound Road, said Dick Neustaedter, battalion chief for the Waukesha Fire Department.

“It was an accident, a freak thing that happened,” Neustaedter said.

Neustaedter did not know if the van rolled onto the man’s leg from a mechanical problem or if it was a driver error. He also did not know if the man owned the vehicle.

The fire department received the call that the man was pinned underneath the vehicle and successfully lifted the vehicle off the man’s leg.
