Man Charged in Theft of 'Godfather' DVDs
A man is facing charges after police say he broke into his neighbor's apartment and stole box set of DVDs from the classic movie, jewelry and more.
Maybe this guy can get an offer for the district attorney’s office that he can’t refuse.
Stephen J. Fellows, 31, of Waukesha, is charged with one count of burglary and one count of possession of a controlled substance after he authorities say he broke into his neighbor’s apartment and stole a “Godfather” DVD box set, Kindle Fire and $2,400 in jewelry. If convicted, he faces up to 12 years and seven months in prison, and $25,500 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court:
On Thursday, a woman living in the 2400 block of Springdale Road called Waukesha police officers to her apartment when she came home to find someone went into her apartment and took the items while she was out. Fellows is her neighbor and she suspected him in the theft because he had a key to the apartment and had sent her a text message earlier in the day asking if she was home.
Fellows was later arrested and taken into custody, where officers found him with a bag of Suboxone powder. He said he is fighting a Percocet addiction and admitted to stealing the items.
Fellows is free on $500 bond while awaiting trial.
