Man Charged After Getting Caught in Internet Sex Sting

Milwaukee man is arrested in Waukesha after he goes to meet with who he thinks is a 15-year-old girl for sex, according to complaint.

A 44-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges after he came to Waukesha to have sex with who he thought was a 15-year-old girl, but found Waukesha County Sheriff’s Deputies waiting for him instead.

Keith E. Schwalbach was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Thursday with one count of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.

On March 26, Schwalbach contacted a Waukesha County detective posing as a 15-year-old girl in an Internet messaging service. When the detective claimed to be 15, Schwalbach responded “nice” and began asking for pictures.

The conversation turned sexually explicit, and Schwalbach sent the girl a video of himself masturbating, then asked if she wanted to see more.

He sent more videos of his genitals and began talking about meeting up with the girl at a mall, saying “too bad you’re not a little older.” When she asked why, he responded he would show her why in person.

During the course of the conversation, the detective realized he had chatted with Schwalbach before in the fall and he never showed up when they agreed to meet up.

The next day they began chatting again and Schwalbach agreed to bring wine coolers for the girl when they met up. The detective had also asked Schwalbach to bring condoms to the rendezvous, but he said he can’t have children and didn’t need them.

Finally they arranged to meet up at a Waukesha restaurant on Tuesday. He sat down in a booth and was approached by police and they searched his car where they found a cooler with Miller Lite inside.

At first Schwalbach denied trying to meet up for sex, saying he wanted to meet with the girl to discuss the dangers of meeting up with older men. Eventually he admitted to trying to meet up for sex and told police he had been in other chats including one where a teenage girl from Glendale agreed to send a video of her naked body.

He’s currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $5,000 bond.
