Lost Donkey Making Friends at Shelter

The donkey’s a fan of ear rubs, according to Jennifer Smieja, who is the development coordinator at H.A.W.S.

“He’s a really nice animal – and he seems to really like the dogs that are playing in the neighboring fenced areas,” she said in an email.  “All of the dogs are just captivated by him, too.”

Mark Hess – our Field Services Manager – corralled him and with the help of the sheriff’s department spent most of yesterday afternoon and evening out canvassing the neighborhood looking for an owner.  Since no one was missing him, Donkey ended up at HAWS last night and is staying here until he’s claimed. If no one claims him we’ll adopt him out – to a proper farm-like environment, of course!  (Maybe with Shrek and Fiona?!)
