Too bad more people weren't there. There was no comparison for some of these candidates. Skinner clearly stood out with expanding on many of the questions sighting examples, sticking to the facts (water, streets, services etc.) and asking to come back to some after his turn. Even correcting others like Vitale who kept contradicting himself (and cranky)? Perry and Jankowski also handled things fairly well, seemed at ease with a little less depth. Patton did better than I expected. But, I tip my hat to Skinner on this one, not even close. I was hearing this in the audience from the small group that was there. The transcript above doesn't capture the essence of these events. Also, noticed a few other Alderman in the audience, interested to know their perspective. Wonder if Sarah asked or has input???

The 7 other states will find reading the Great Lakes comments - opinions - most enlightening.

Alderman Patton: " Lake Michigan is the only option for the city's future water supply."
Not according to the National Wildlife Federation report release 2 weeks ago.

Lenny Miller: "If we were to take the water from the Fox River, it would cease to exist south of Waukesha" and not enough capacity for quarries.
A recent study by the USGS showed that Waukesha would have plenty of water from a series of riparian wells for river bank inducement situated on the Fox. I've not seen a proposed to take water from the Fox other that to fill the quarry s in spring.

Aron Perry:"Milwaukee needs to stay on the table - although he does not want to go to Milwaukee - to ensure Oak Creek moves forward."
Milwaukee will likely lobby to kill the application. Of course Milwaukee is correct on the SEWRPC defined service area being not compliant with the compact requirements.

Gary Krivos:"We need to hope that the governors of all the states approve this." future is in their hands.
Gary's close to asking the obvious - what if they say no.

Mark Meyers:"Believes more people are in apartments than are supposed to be, which raises the number of showers people take."
The most common sense answer and person up there.

Alderman Skinner:"Milwaukee, OC and Racine don't own the Great Lakes."
True. But they are on the right side of the sub-continental divide. We, are not.

Thanks for attending gentlemen, I appreciate the feedback and the questions. Wish we had more time on the answers but I really enjoyed the format.
