Letter to the Editor: Karalewitz's Experience Perfect for County Clerk
The Republican primary election for Waukesha County clerk is Aug. 14.
Letter To The Editor:
I am sure most are aware of the mess in the Waukesha County clerk’s office. Now we are reading that the mess is going to cost the taxpayers of Waukesha County $256,300. I suspect this is only the cost of the software and the folks who install it. The question that is not being asked is who is going to oversee the installation of this software and the education of the people in the department?
Obviously it has to be a person with a great deal of experience. That is why I am voting for Kathy Karalewitz who has 25 years of experience running elections, the majority being in Waukesha County and Menomonee Falls. I was the village president of Menomonee Falls for 10 years and was fortunate to have worked with Kathy for five of those years. She oversaw all of the elections and never was there a glitch. She came to us after she had worked in the Waukesha County clerk’s office just loaded with experience which is what we need in the clerk’s office be it county or municipal. In addition, the following tells the reason why we need Kathy as our Waukesha County clerk:
- 25 years of election experience
- 8 years as Waukesha County Deputy Clerk
- 14 years of municipal clerk experience
- Certified Election Inspector Trainer, WI GAB
- Certified Municipal Clerk
- Experience in Statewide Voting System
- Experience with open meeting and open record laws
- Experience with County Board proceedings
- Administrative experience including budget planning and management, human resource management, strategic planning and procurement at municipal and county government
VOTE K. KARALEWITZ FOR COUNTY CLERK ON AUG. 14

What about the other candidates and their backgrounds, sometimes too much experience doesn't work, it can stagnate or impair a person's creativity or acceptance of change.

I remember a story in Journal about Karalewitz requiring a candidate running against Greco to file paperwork and then called Greco to come and review it. Later tells the candidate he didn't need to file the paperwork. This may be Greco returning the favor. Not sure if Greco won or lost that race.
