Great marketing gimmick.
They lose nothing by offering 1 sandwich for $1 per customer and generate a ton of traffic to make the $$$ off the sodas and chips and extra sandwiches purchased. The sandwich's ingredients are extremely cheap and the soda you pay $1.50-2.00 costs them just penny's for the syrup and the cup actually costs more than the soda.
After all the restrictions as well as the horrendous lines, it's not worth the time to save a couple of $$$.

Great deal, we stopped for a sandwich. Fast moving lines and no one makes anyone buy a soda or anything else. They do there job and ask you if you want a pickle or chips.
