Jammin' on Janesville
Free event held in Downtown Muskego on June 1, July 6, Aug. 3
Jammin' on Janesville is in its second year, and has grown exponentially as a summer event featured on the first Fridays of June, July and August. Initially intended as a way to keep downtown businesses as a focus of commerce in the face of a major road construction project, it has blossomed into a 3-mile long outdoor festival, drawing thousands along the route.
Games, entertainment and food will be offered all along the route, and everyone is encouraged to get to meet those businesses that will feel the pinch as earthmovers occupy Janesville Road in order to reconstruct the area. The road will be open to all motorists, but parking areas will be designated for easier maneuvering at each event.
More than 85 participating businesses and vendors along Janesville Road from Racine Avenue to College Avenue - we've listed just a small sampling below.
Hours are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. each event, and festivities will go on, rain or shine.
Don't miss: The opportunity to make a difference is also a feature of each event. Partnering with nonprofits, Jammin' on Janesville will help support the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life at Muskego High School in June. In July, the focus will be on the Muskego Food Pantry, with opportunities to donate all along the route. The Muskego Performing Arts Council will be the beneficiaries in August.
