It's Gwen Jorgensen's Time to Shine

Cheer on Waukesha's Olympian during on NBC Sports at 3 a.m. Saturday.

If you want to cheer on Waukesha South High School graduate Gwen Jorgensen in the triathlon Saturday morning, you might not want to go to bed. The women’s triathlon is being aired on NBC Sports at 3 a.m.

“Thankful to God for my gifts....Tomorrow is the day to put it all out there. No regrets. Time to suffer,” Jorgensen wrote Friday on her Twitter.

Jorgensen, a standout swimmer at Waukesha South, was recruited to run triathlons when she was studying at University of Wisconsin-Madison. The 26-year-old woman was an accountant at Ernest and Young in Milwaukee when she made the USA Olympic team. She has currently taken leave from the firm to train for the London 2012 Olympics.

Her mother’s blog shares about how Jorgensen got her start swimming with the Optimist Club.
