In Enemy Territory: Tattoo Artists Dish Out Friendly Banter Before Packers-Bears Game

George Wang and Rich Cseri root for opposing teams but each know what it is like living among the "enemy" fans.

When it comes to football, George Wang and Rich Cseri, of Waukesha Tattoo, know what it is like to live among the enemy.

Wang, a Bears fan since a youngster, has no intention of changing his ways, no matter how much teasing he gets from the loyal Packer fans in Wisconsin.

"I'm kind of a Bears fan from a bygone era," Wang said. "You have to stay loyal to your team. ... People will have more respect if you are not jumping on the bandwagon."

But when it comes to today's Bears-Packers match up, if it is a close game, the Bears will win. If it is a blowout, the Packers will be Super Bowl bound, Wang said.

"If the Packers make it, I think the Packers will win," Wang said.

So, what happens when a person wants a giant "G" tattoo? There aren't any worries that it will turn into a "C" instead.

"I do a full disclosure every time I give a Packers tattoo," Wang said.

Working with Cseri, who has lived at times in Green Bay and Chicago, they won't hesitate to make comments about the other team. Still, they keep the friendly banter civil.

"It is just kind of friendly conversation, really," Wang said. "We talk sports, but we really don't mean anything by it."

Not so with the Bears fans in Chicago, Cseri said. Cseri likes the city of Chicago better but the people in Green Bay are more friendly, he said.

Cseri lived in Green Bay long enough to tattoo several of the Packers, including defensive lineman Billy Lyon. While unable to ever tattoo nos. 4 and 80, Cseri did meet Brett Favre and Donald Driver while living in the city.

"They make themselves accesible to the public," Cseri explained.

Of course, when it comes to tattoos, Cseri couldn't help but rip Brian Urlacher, Bears linebacker, for not completing an armband tattoo. He wasn't sure if Urlacher ever finished the tattoo, but said if he met the Bears defensive leader, he would be sure to ask if Urlacher ever has plans to finish the tattoo.

In the meantime, as Cseri, who became a Packers fan through his wife, looks ahead to the score, he thinks the game will be close with the Packers on top.

"They both have a great team right now, but Packers are a little bit better," Cseri said.

Are you a Bears fan living in enemy territory? What is it like being among a bunch of Packers? Tell us in the comments.
