Right on Governor Walker, right on!

Thank you for continuing to move Wisconsin forward, despite the non-stop barrage of side show attractions being mounted by your opposition. Hoffa and the state as a whole stands with you in your efforts to make Wisconsin government fiscally responsible and the state an all around better place to live for all!

It was an honor and privilege having recently met your parents, who personally thanked Hoffa for his efforts on your behalf. They are truly a class act in every way!

Just imagine the explosion of job creation we'll see across the state once the uncertainty of these frivolous recalls are behind us and Walker is still our governor! June 5th will indeed be a historic day, ushering in a new era of conservative leadership in Wisconsin, and providing the nation with a prelude for November.

The Tax Foundation. The Board of Directors encompasses multinationals and "consulting firms." No surprise they like Walker's corporate welfare.

Again, I'm struck by Walker's self-referencing in plural first person. This is actually symptomatic of multiple personality disorder. I'm sure Walker is just trying to present himself as enjoying a wellspring of support for the ALEC agenda, but the use of this tense is jarring and discordant.

Over the years I've thought that it would be a worthy endeavor to document the dysfunctional relationship between the Wisconsin teachers' union and the labor unions. The labor unions always blindly support the teachers' union, and the teachers demand it. Yet the teachers don't rally to support bills that help the labor unions. In fact, they show little loyalty at all. I think my documentary would start out in the teachers' parking lot at a number of schools, showing the incredible number of non-union cars manufactured by foreign companies. In fact, I would bet money that it's disproportionately high when compared to the general population.

But, it's not working! Seems like just yesterday all we heard about was Wisconsin being 47th worst in the country for job creation based on a Puffington Host comment from some anonymous state employee and numbers that included laid off state workers (a positive thing in the long run.)

Now it's back to navel gazing psychoanalysis of first person/present tense. Seriously lame.

Yes, I've heard the tinfoil hat crowd saying this. They all have the same talking points. I can't figure out if the person/s who originated this "observation" is childish or ignorant.

It's conventional for a campaigning (non-incumbent) politician to use "I" more than "we." Once in office, it is better to use "we" more often because it sounds more egalitarian and collaborative, and is therefore more likely to be welcomed. But it's always good to say "I" when defending something that will almost inevitably sound noble, such as defending the poor, orphans, widows, or retirement funds. Some people do this naturally, but others have to be trained. How much anyone does this varies, but it is recommended.

For example, Gina Raimond, the brilliant Democrat Treasurer of Rhode Island almost always uses "we" in her speeches, but when in conversation will use "I" when talking about herself. However, she -- either through natural understanding or training -- often catches herself saying "I" and will stop before the word totally comes out and will say "we." This is her first year out of the corporate world, so she is used to saying "I," but you can see her prefrontal lobe catching the error and correcting it with "we" quite often. The transition process is obvious.

One more thing, since I ran out of space in my last post. Walker really is a "we" person, both in private and in public. I could give an endless number of examples, but those who were at the zoo when Walker came last year saw his typical style in action. When discussing a topic with a group, he would stop talking and would pick out someone who hadn't said anything and would ask them what they thought. After the meeting I asked one woman how she thought the meeting went (I was not in the meeting), and she replied that it went fine, because, as usual, Walker noticed that some) had not said anything (there was too much competition), so he called upon her to share any thoughts she had. Another woman that was with us after the meeting said that she felt respected.

You invited people to "call it what you will" about Walker being at the zoo and picking out people in the group while speaking and asking their opinion. OK.

You seem to be reaching for straws, and overly impressed with the superficial, from reading some of your posts.. Anybody who has had some training in leading a group, or just common sense, knows that is a method of speaking. Was it a friendly group, probably yes. But I have actually seen that technique used in business to pick out dissidents to the message the leader was conveying, and rebuke them immediately or punish them subtly later. Also, someone trying to convince a group may intentionally call on a cheerleader type, like you.
Suggest you take a course or two in handling such speaking situations. It is not necessarily a heartfelt, spontaneous exercise. It is just part of the training exercises a politician gets who appears closed-minded and autocratic otherwise. You are correct, it is a "style" of speaking, and that can be learned in remedial training sessions.

No, it was not a "friendly group." In fact, one of the people was afraid to look "friendly" because she feared for her job.

Is you posting sarcasm or an honest position? If it isn't sarcasm, then you come across as someone who has read too much of 1930's script of "leaders" such as Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin. They were big into "crushing" their opponents. Their verbiage was designed to incite revolt and violence. Is that what you are working towards?

Apparently Gov. Walker doesn't read the Patch. Here's what I just read about the rising unemployment rate in Wisconsin:

"Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Reginald J. Newson announced the preliminary February unemployment rates for Wisconsin’s 72 counties on March 28th. St. Croix County’s rate was estimated at 6.8%, rising the third consecutive month. St. Croix’s January rate was reported at 6.1% and the December rate was 5.0%, while November’s rate was 4.9%. One year ago, the county’s unemployment rate was estimated at 7.6%...."

Apparently the Patch reporters don't read the Patch either. I thought reporters where supposed to be "fair and balanced." Perhaps they should spend more time on getting the facts and less time on the St. Croix County Republican Party Facebook page.

I just read every comment----and I use that term loosely---nothing really worth a response---I gotta find out who reccommended this site for intelligence, find out what his cryteria is---stop listening ----you guys need to get a life!
