Here is the transcript from this Thursday’s radio address, which is titled Happy Holidays:

Hi, this is Scott Walker.

About a decade ago, Tonette and I started a wonderful tradition in our household. After opening a few gifts with our sons Matt and Alex, we took a break and helped serve a feast to those without a place to go on Christmas Day.

At first, we thought our kids would be upset with having to set down that new toy or game. Instead, they looked forward each year to the chance to serve. We all came to enjoy the giving as much as the gifts during the holidays.

From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah and a prosperous and safe New Year.

What about the 1000's who have lost their job under a president who in November 2008 promised to save or create 2.5 million jobs by January 2011. And then spends $4 Million to take a vacation to Hawaii. That's a lot of unemployment benefits or $$$ to create jobs.

Good friend mau, President Obama's initiatives are creating jobs-and the blocked jobs bill has slowed that growth. That's the fault of Republicans. And remember that George W. Bush, by 9/11/2001, had already taken more vacation time than any other U.S. President in history. Facts are our friends!

My dearest friend Bren, then why are you all beating up on Walker. I would think that the POTUS initiatives would have an impact on the entire country and wouldn't be overshadowed by a single governor. We have a democrat POTUS and a democrat Senate yet you continue to blame the republicans. He didn't promise all these jobs with conditions. He said he would do a better job than Bush but all he and his fellow democrats continue to do is make excuses and blame Bush and the Republicans. Much as I want to slap myself for saying it, even Clinton handled his opposition better than this POTUS.

Mau, Scott Walker is the poster boy for what is wrong in this country--a seditious attempt led by the Koch brothers and their ilk to turn the U.S. into a plutocracy. This sedition is taking place particularly and simultaneously at the state and national levels. Ordinary Americans cannot outspend these privateers, but we can outvote them (except in parts of Michigan where the Koch brothers' governor has replaced democracy with "emergency managers"/overseers. Right now, more than 1/3 of African Americans in MI have lost their right to elected representation).

And Obama has done a better job than Bush. His stimulus packages required metrics, Osama bin Laden is dead, and he has done a fantastic job of pointing blame for our country's woes squarely where it belongs--on that faction of Republicans that serve the would-be plutocrats. Clinton had his issues with foolish Republicans like Newt Gingrich, but the majority of GOP'rs were reasonable.

Think about Ronald Reagan and how leftist his policies now seem, compared to today's John Birchy-nuttiness in Congress that masks the true and greedy agenda of Wall Street/plutocrats. The November elections may very well decide whether the U.S. regains its strength and power or diminishes into a Third World country dominated by Wall Street/plutocrats. I know where I stand.

I really wish for once you would quit mindlessly throwing in the Coch brothers. It just makes your comments sound foolish. I can see by your statements that you haven't a clue of who the Birchers are or what they stand for. There are none in the Republican party who have anything in common with the Birchers and very few who hold the conservative values of Ronald Reagan.

Good friend mau, the name is spelled "K-O-C-H." Sorry, but if you are going to accuse me of being mindless, your insults will be far more effective if spelled correctly!

The John Birch Society is a radical anti-communist organization that believed, among other things, that water fluoridation was a Communist plot. But they also oppose what they call "redistribution of wealth," or what some are currently calling fair taxation of the top 1%.

"There are none in the Republican party who have anything in common with the Birchers..." I will have to disagree with you here. The political tenets of the JBS, limited government (except for the morality police!), protecting the assets of the wealthy--are very similar to those professed by the Tea/GOP and for good reason! The Tea/GOP is the child of the Koch brothers and their father Fred was one of the founders of the JBS.

"and very few who hold the conservative values of Ronald Reagan." I will also disagree with you here. The recent payroll tax dispute between the Senate and House GOPrs was illuminating in this respect. There are still Republicans with traditional, pro-America values in this country, and the disconnect between this faction and the pro-plutocracy radicals is becoming clear.

@Bren, you really think I am that ignorant to misspell Koch when it is burned into my brain by all your communist comments. Ronald Reagan and much of the country was anti-communist during the first 40 years of my life. Many of my mothers relatives fled Slovenia after WWII when the communist partisans came in and took their property and killed many of their friends and neighbors. "Redistribution of wealth," is a communist/socialist tenet. And you say "water fluoridation was a Communist plot" is radical but "Walker is killing senior citizens" isn't?

Friend mau, I am very sorry that you lost family members and friends and neighbors died because of the post WWII political upheaval. What happened back then is a terrible example of what happens when extremists gain power. But I am deeply offended that you accuse me of being a Marxist simply because my facts don't agree with your wishes.

"Redistribution of wealth," what you consider a communist/socialist tenet, is actually occurring right now across the globe. Do you find it acceptable for the lower and middle income levels to be pillaged in favor of the wealthy? Right now, a small group of would-be plutocrats are hiding behind "conservatism" to push through more self-serving legislation. Personally, I long for the return to balance in our politics/economics.

"And you say 'water fluoridation was a Communist plot' is radical but 'Walker is killing senior citizens' isn't?"

I would say the first point borders on paranoia, not just radicalism. The second refers to Walker's exacerbation of the already challenging issue of health insurance in America.

Having lived for a time in a country with a national health care plan, I find nothing admirable about our health insurance quagmire. Being unemployed shouldn't also be a threat to one's health. Friends who work in healthcare tell me that people are cancelling necessary procedures because of cost. That's not right.

Once Obama is removed, jobs will necessarily skyrocket across the USA and especially here in Wisconsin, since Gov. Walker improved the business climate. Let's remember, the fascination the left has with the Koch Bros. comes right out of Obama's mentors book, "Rules for radicals" by Saul Alinsky.

Come on now, you folks are going to make all, male and female, lefties jealous. They all want to have those nuts like the Governor because it is so rare in their homes to have nuts.
And Sparky, if you are going to be polishing turds as you say, you might want to wash your hands before you handle anyones nuts, be it the Governors or a close friends. It is the health thing to do.

The unemployment is from the previous governor, still continuing till all of Walker's plans turn it around. Give him a chance. It slid down hill during Doyle. How do you think he can change it all under a year? As with Nobama followers, he has been given 3 years and it all got worse [and so it continues downward]. Walker has made great improvements in less than a year. LET HIM DO HIS JOB. And HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Yes, Let him do his Job. He can start by hehiring 5 teachers let go at my kids grade school. Then he can restore the Rescue Squad that was shut down at the fire department. Two jobs per shift, that 6 more jobs gone. I can't wait to see improvements for the working people and not just for the Millionaires

@Linda Motley-- What a comment to make, saying our governor is "full of caustic bile". All because he erased a huge deficit, balanced the budget, repaid funds Doyle stole from, prevented massive layoffs, all without raising taxes. Just by some having to contribute less then the private sector to their own benefits. Gov. Walker did what he said he would before the election and we are PROUD of him. Try to gain some class lady..............

Being that Bren said"facts are friends and Linda calling Walker caustic bile" I don't recall any Republican getting his flute tooted on my tax dollar like Clinton and Monica or passing a health care law that applies to only us but not them, and people that were elected to represent you and I running accross the state line but they sure didn't back up when it came time to collect a paycheck.Yep, thats sure the way to represent your people.

The more Americans see these Recall Walker people for what they really are the more they will reject these ignorant tools. These pieces of human debris with their little clipboards will be the last nail in the coffin of the Progressive movement. Their pitiful attempts at turning Wisconsin into a morally and economically bankrupt, socialist state will fail.

They already are a failure. It started last November and continued with the Supreme court race, last recalls and now this.

They are the dodo birds of the human race. Their policies and mindset are leading everyone to economic extinction. Even with clear warning they continue to do more of the same.

The silent majority knew we had to change and found Walker. Let's hope the rest of the country can do the same in 2012.

Walker may be beat, he might not. Let the recall happen and get it over with. Wisconsin will then be stuck with whoever until the next election and maybe some of this bickering will die down and we can start getting along better instead of being so divided. Some say a recall is the wrong thing, but remember that Walker first got elected to Milwaukee County Exec in a recall election. That is what happens when the public trust is violated. 39% of Union people voted for Walker. After he atttacked collective bargaining they know they have been betrayed. Spoken by a "Former Republican"

sha guy, you have made an excellent point. Unfortunately it is very true of people on both sides of the aisle. More left than right but both regardless. I recall hearing many uppity east and west coast media people say "I do not know anyone who voted for Bush".
If people limit their life to a narrow band of like thinkers, never travel or only learn what the teachers and professors want them to learn, they will never truly be or understand diversity or open their mind an become free thinkers.
