Four Candidates Selected for Waukesha City Administrator
Final decision could come June 26 as the Waukesha Common Council has to approve the candidate.
Four finalists have been selected for city administrator and the Common Council could be given the final recommendation from Mayor Jeff Scrima on June 26.
The candidates were in Waukesha this week interviewing for the position that’s been held on an interim basis by Community Development Director Steve Crandell since August.
“Overall, they were quite impressive,” Scrima said.
The finalists are:
- Shawn Gillen, city administrator in Grand Rapids, MN.
- Kenneth Witt, city administer in Sparta.
- Aaron Oppenheimer, village administrator in Bellevue.
- Thomas Barwin, past village administrator in Oak Park, IL.
Former City Administrator Lori Luther resigned from her position in Waukesha to take a county administrator position in Illinois.

Jeff Scrima is going to be making a recommendation? In my opinion, and those at City Hall, Jeff Scrima should not even be allowed to be Mayor. What a joke.

Tread carefully with Tom Barwin. He's a walking, talking complaint department. And it's mostly about himself. He's gone from Oak Park for playing fast and loose with service contracts and failed to pay property taxes on a house he rented from the Village.
