Former D Mo's Owner Charged With Sexual Assault
Former owner of bar and restaurant faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted in the July 2011 incident.
A failed Waukesha restaurateur is facing charges after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside the bar and restaurant that was located in The Clarke Hotel.
Ramon A. Mitre Hernandez, 30, of Waukesha, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Thursday with one count of second-degree sexual assault. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On July 31, 2011, a 28-year-old woman and her friends went to D Mo’s, 314 W. Main St., to eat at the establishment. Hernandez was there at the time and they all had drinks until some of the people began to leave.
The woman was eventually left alone with Hernandez. He offered to make her food so she followed him into the kitchen, then into a banquet room.
Hernandez turned on the light and the victim didn’t see any food. He then turned the lights back off and pinned the woman against a wall and began to undo her bra.
The victim informed investigators she told him to stop, but Hernandez kept going, tried to kiss her and began to kiss her breasts. He then undid her pants and began to molest her, the woman told police.
The woman pushed away from Hernandez and got out the door.
Several days later, the woman’s friend came to her after he found out about the incident and told her she wasn't the only victim, but other girls were afraid to come forward. The victim told police she then worked up the courage to come forward because she needed to stand up to Hernandez for doing this to others.
A detective has tried to investigate the incident, but he received a letter stating Hernandez would not be cooperating with the investigation.
He’s scheduled to make his initial appearance in court Oct. 1.
