Finance Committee To Tour City's Dispatch Center
Waukesha Common Council exploring if it wants to join county dispatch.
The next step as the city considers joining the Waukesha County’s dispatch center is a tour of the city’s dispatch center at the Waukesha Police Department.
A group of aldermen will tour the facility at 7 pm. Tuesday as a part of the Finance Committee. The group previously toured the consolidated dispatch site at a meeting earlier this month.
Following the presentation on the city’s dispatch center and the tour, the Finance Committee will review and discuss the presentation and the tour. The aldermen also will discuss the long-term financial planning and services year of the city.
The aldermen are exploring the possibility of joint dispatch in an effort to save the city budget money but savings estimates have not yet been delivered to the Finance Committee.

what good is saving a few dollars in comparison to saving a life. I DO NOT want to go to the county dispatch center. If Waukesha's Dispatch center goes down, then the county takes over, What happens when the County's Dispatch center goes down and there isn't any back-up. Waukesha County doesn't know where all our streets are and that can add seconds or minutes to their arrival to save your loved ones life. As everyone should know, a few seconds can be devastating when it comes to your child, wife, mother, son, fathers etc. life. Do you want to take that chance? We have one of the best Dispatch Centers and Dispatch people in the state. Let's not let a few dollars a year ruin that. I'm sure we can make that money up somewhere else.

A move to WCC would be grave for our police officers.
