Dunkin' Donuts Plans Sunset Drive Location

Drive-through coffee shop would be located in the Town of Waukesha at corner of Prairie Avenue and Sunset Drive.

A Dunkin’ Donuts location on Sunset Drive in the Town of Waukesha is planned for the property currently occupied by St. Vincent’s De Paul.

The Town of Waukesha Plan Commission will hold a public hearing for a conditional use permit for the Dunkin’ Donuts location at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Dunkin’ Donuts with a drive through is proposed for S30W24836 Sunset Drive. The 5,040 square foot building would house up to four retail tenants. The plans do not state what tenants would be located in the building, besides Dunkin’ Donuts.

If approved, the Sunset Drive Dunkin’ Donuts would be the second to open in Waukesha recently. Dunkin’ Donuts opened on North Grandview Boulevard in October.

Milwaukee Coffee Brewing Co. (MCB) plans to open 36 Dunkin’ Donuts locations throughout southeast Wisconsin in the next few years, according to Menomonee Falls Patch.

St. Vincent's has been at the corner of Sunset Drive and Prairie Avenue since 2011. A 2011 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article states the thrift store moved into a former Kohl's grocery store space on Sunset Drive.

St. Vincent is set up so nice there, where are they going to move to?

I agree. We've made more visits to St Vincent's since they opened there versus Goodwill because they have been better organized, better priced, and generally a better experience. I wish they were taking over the old K-Mart instead - that space is desperate for a use.

I live across from the old K-Mart and I'll tell ya, it's still weird seeing it empty and it's quite an eyesore. I am happy to see that semi drivers are getting their required sleep by parking in the lot overnight. ~Abe

Didn't there used to be a Dunkin' Donuts on Sunset near Sunset bowl like 15 years ago? Anyway, having a Dunkin' Donuts this close to my house is not good. I can feel the transfats killing me already.

Cash stores and now DD, I thought that area of Sunset Dr. had higher standards.
