Downtown Ice Sculpting Contest an Incredible Success

Have you seen the ice sculptures in downtown Waukesha? The contest was held with the help of some key individuals and businesses.

Editor's Note: The following letter to the editor was submitted to Waukesha Patch.

On behalf of the Waukesha Downtown Business Association, I would like to thank everyone who had a part in making the downtown ice sculpting contest such an incredible success.

With the nice weather, we saw record crowds in the downtown admiring the artist work and spending time in our businesses.  Specifically, I would like to thank Jen Palkowski and the Montecito Ristorante Lounge for their generosity of time in coordinating this event.  I understand that Jen has even bigger plans for next year!

Many of the downtown businesses financially sponsored ice blocks and donated prizes for the artists.  We couldn’t have done this without your generosity, so thank you!  I would also like to thank to Ron Grall, Joanna Adamicki and the entire Parks and Rec staff for their effort and financial investment into the Winter JanBoree!  Our community turned out in large numbers to enjoy the events, which is a clear indicator of your success….way to go!

Sincerely,
Roger Igielski, President
Waukesha Downtown Business Association

It was so wonderful to see everyone out there walking around downtown looking at them during the JanBoree event! I was giving trolley tours (which was sooo much fun!) and all the people kept asking about the ice sculptures. Very well done, WDBA and all who contributed!! Keep up the great work! :)
