Applicants Sought for Waukesha County Fairest of the Fair Competition
Application and photo deadline is June 29 and is open to Waukesha County residents who are at least age 18.
Do you know someone who has what it takes to be the next Fairest of the Fair?
The Waukesha County Fair Association is now accepting applications for the Waukesha County Fair Fairest of the Fair competition, sponsored by Waukesha Kiwanis and Waukesha County Farm Bureau.
Any Waukesha County resident, at least 18 years of age on or before July 18, 2012, with fair experience is encouraged to apply. Fairest of the Fair entry forms are available at:

All completed applications and photos are due by June 29, 2012, to the fair office. The final competition will be held on Wednesday, July 18, at 6 p.m. at the Leinie Lodge Stage, sponsored by B93.3 FM. The Waukesha County Fair, sponsored by Aurora Health Care, runs Wednesday, July 18, through Sunday, July 22, on the Waukesha Expo Grounds.

The Fairest of the Fair is selected on the basis of personality, communication skills, school and community activities, professional appearance, knowledge of and experience with the Waukesha County Fair. The individual chosen will serve as the official host and spokesperson for the 2012 Waukesha County Fair held July 18-22, with duties beginning immediately after being crowned. Responsibilities include welcoming the public, interviews with the media, announcing special events, judging and participating in contests and awarding ribbons.
Throughout the reigning year, the Fairest of the Fair attends county functions, speaks at community engagements, schools, and clubs, and participates in parades as requested. In addition, the Fairest represents the Waukesha County Fair at the three-day Wisconsin State Fairest of the Fairs Competition, to be held January 6-9, 2013 in Wisconsin Dells. A scholarship for continuing education will be awarded to the Fairest of the Fair at the end of the reign.
The Waukesha County Fair Association is a non-profit volunteer organization that is completely separate and receives no funding from Waukesha County or the City of Waukesha. Advanced general admission tickets are available now thru May 31 for half price ($4.50) (May 1 through July 17, $7 online) Main Stage VIP & ELITE VIP tickets are also available online, while supplies last.
