A large police response led to all five people being taken into custody after they fled from the area during a traffic stop by a Waukesha police officer Thursday night, according to Sgt. Tom Wagner.

While it wasn't immediately clear when the people ran, police learned that the car was stolen, according Wagner.

The Waukesha Police Department was searching between Waukesha Memorial Hospital and St. Paul Avenue for two individuals who ran away from the scene. Authorities already had taken three people into custody, according to Wagner.

The Waukesha Police department did a great job with this incident. I had a bird's eye view from my apartment and was happy that no one was hurt and that all 5 car thieves were apprehended.
