Carroll University officials are asking students and campus community members to be alert while walking near the school, especially at night, due to two assault incidents that were reported near the campus, according to a safety alert from the university.

Police and Carroll University security are increasing patrols in the area because of the incidents, the alert states. The Waukesha Police Department is investigating the assaults.

“Please be aware of your surroundings, walk with at least one other person, or preferably in a group,” the alert states.

Public Safety can also be contacted by using one of the blue light phones on campus as well as the house phones in the academic buildings and the residence halls. 

A woman reported around 9 p.m. Tuesday that a man grabbed her while she was walking on Grand Avenue near Frontier Hall, the alert states. He was riding a bicycle, asked her questions and then grabbed her and pulled her close to him. She reported being grabbed by the same man at 8 p.m. June 18 but she did not immediately report that incident.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 5-feet 4-inches and 5-feet 6-inches tall, 180 to 200 pounds, in his late 20s or early 30s, short dark hair, heavy accent and a visible tattoo on his right forearm. The man was last seen wearing green pants and a green T-shirt.

A different student reported at 12:37 a.m. Thursday two Hispanic males physically assaulted the student, who was walking in a small group near Grand Avenue and Carroll Street. The student was slightly injured and the two suspects fled on foot, the security alert states.

The men are described as being about 5-feet 3-inches tall, about 18 years old and buzz cut hairstyles. Both suspects were wearing shorts and one was wearing a T-shirt.
