School community remembers beloved teacher:

Jake Kelly was the kind of teacher who would go the extra mile for his students, valued input from parents and coworkers, and helped the school and its community however necessary, according to all involved.

His death will leave a hole not easily filled in the close-knit school community. Kelly, who had heart complications and died while out running Monday, taught seventh-grade math at Saratoga this year and taught fourth grade at Randall last year.

Waukesha police searching for two girls in Waukesha:

It was less than two hours after the media was notified that the Waukesha Police Department was searching for two missing girls when the juveniles were found on the east side of Waukesha.

An observant woman who had just heard a report about the girls’ description noticed the two girls outside of PetWorld and saw that one of the girls was not wearing any shoes. The woman went inside the store and looked at pictures of the missing girls online with PetWorld employees. The store called police and went outside to talk to the girls, who eventually took off, according to Sgt. Jerry Habanek.

Waukesha police unit on scene of gun call:

The man who was arrested after it was reported he was passed out in a vehicle with a gun in his lap was taken Waukesha Memorial Hospital for drunken driving and blood tests, according to Lt. Kevin Kober.

The man was arrested after the Waukesha Police Department’s Tactical Unit’s armored car and a similar peacekeeping vehicle from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department blocked in the suspect’s Envoy to keep him from fleeing.

Woman uses toddler to sell heroin and methadone to Waukesha police:

A 25-year-old Okauchee woman is facing charges after she allegedly used her toddler to conduct two drug deals with undercover police in Waukesha.

Allison Kircher was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with two counts of delivery of narcotics, two counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place, one count of manufacture and delivery of heroin and one count of using a child to manufacture and deliver drugs. If convicted, she faces up to 61 years in prison and $170,000 in fines.
