Elmbrook Memorial Wins Title of 'Best Hospital Food in Wisconsin'
Waukesha, Wis. – (April 23, 2012) – Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - Elmbrook Memorial was declared the winner of the second annual Hospital Food Fight on Sunday, April 22. The event benefited Stillwaters Cancer Support Services and included the “iron chef-type” competition between hospital chefs, educational seminars, small food tastings from food businesses and children’s activities. Elmbrook also won the “People’s Choice Award” for its food samples provided to the event attendees.
Four hospitals competed for the title: Elmbrook Memorial, Aurora Healthcare’s Summit Medical Center, ProHealth Care’s Waukesha Memorial and Oconomowoc Memorial. Each dish met the American Dietetic Association’s nutritional guidelines and cost less than $5.00.

Celebrity judges: Executive Chef Mark Schmidt – Bartolotta’s Catering at Pier Wisconsin and Grain Exchange, Chef Mic Pietrykowski - Retired Chef Instructor for the WCTC Culinary Department and past president of the American Culinary Federation Chefs of Milwaukee, Bob Reitman, cancer survivor and local DJ on WUWM and David Davidson from GE Healthcare and the American Culinary Federation Chefs of Milwaukee. Ted Perry from Fox 6 News served as celebrity emcee.
Stillwaters Cancer Support Services is the only non-profit organization in Wisconsin to provide professional counseling and support at no cost to persons with cancer and those who love them. Services include individual and family counseling, support groups, workshops, grief services and educational programs.
