Waukesha’s Gibson GuitarTown Committee Names Sponsors

The playable Gibson Les Paul guitar Waukesha artist Jeff Homar is designing for Waukesha Gibson Guitar Town is nearly complete. Homar’s guitar celebrates the entire guitar shape and uses a vibrant color palette that wraps around the instrument – including the neck and sides. This is the first guitar design Jeff Homar has created. The focus of Homar’s art for the last 12 years has been on creating ArtBox’s that incorporate watercolor paper into boxes inspired by abstractive observations studying nature, listening and reacting to music, and doodling’s from his imagination. In all his art, Homar strives to create objects that are fun and exciting to look at and enjoy.

The Waukesha Gibson Guitar Town steering committee has secured many local business sponsors to support the Waukesha Guitar Town public arts project. About Waukesha GuitarTown

The Waukesha GuitarTown Project is a public arts endeavor that will feature a display of ten 10-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul model guitars and 20 playable Les Paul guitars. The guitars will be artistically designed by visual artists from Southeastern Wisconsin. Playable guitars have arrived back from Gibson with strings and hardware added and 17 will be displayed indoors and three for charity auction. Finished guitars will be displayed as part of a walking tour of downtown Waukesha landmarks June 1, 2012.
