The City of Waukesha has received a Government Category Standard of Excellence Award from the Web Marketing Association, Webaward.org. The 2011 WebAwards professional competition honored organizations that have achieved excellence in web development.
"This award validates how far our website has come in providing easier and more transparent access to our citizens. We are proud of our IT Department and those that assisted in this effort," Mayor Jeff Scrima said.
Founded by the Web Marketing Association in 1997, the WebAwards is the standards-defining competition that sets industry benchmarks for the best web sites based on the seven criteria of a successful website.
"Industry expert judges scrutinized more than 2,000 entries from 45 countries in 96 industry categories based on seven criteria, including design, content and ease of use." (WebAwards.org)
“This award recognizes the standard of excellence for which all Web sites should strive and sets a benchmark for us to gauge ourselves for future development, drive new applications and ease of use,” said Bret Mantey, IT director.
