A Waukesha South High School student was named a commended student in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.

South Principal Timothy Joynt will present the student, Angela Como, with a letter of commendation from Waukesha South and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Como joins 34,000 commended students across the nation who are recognized for their “exceptional academic promise,” states a news release. While commended students do not advance in the scholarship program, they place in the top 5 percent of the more than 1.5 million students who entered the scholarship competition.
